Sölden a widely scattered settlement which developed into an internationally known summer and winter sports resort. The first World Cup race of the year usually takes place there in late October.
Sölden and Hochsölden also possess sports halls catering for activities such as swimming and tennis. Sölden has an interesting parish church, originally Gothic, remodeled in Baroque style in 1752, with wrought iron crosses in the churchyard.
