Resort/City Information - CALA GALDANA |  | Cala Galdana is a quiet holiday resort situated on the west of Menorca island, around 20 miles from the airport and capital (Mahon) which takes just under an hour in the car. Cala Galdana has the river Algendar running through it. The best time to visit Cala Galdana is between May and October, high season is from June to September.
The blue flag beach in Cala Galdana is renowned for its calm waters, golden sand, and tranquil setting. It also has many facilities such as water sports, beach bars, restaurants, lifeguards, a sailing, and a scuba diving school.
The Club de Golf Son Parc golf course is not far from Cala Galdana designed by Dave Thomas, close to the sea, and surrounded by pine trees, and peacocks. It is a moderately stunted and even course, trickier on the greens, however the wind can add challenges all over. The course is situated in the center of the Menorca island. There are traditional Spanish horse shows held in Cala Galdana each Sunday and Wednesday. They are quite spectacular, you can find the Club Escola Menorquina on the main road from Ferreries to Cala Galdana please see Cala Galdana Sightseeing for contact details.
Cala Galdana does not have its own fiesta however in the neighboring inland town of Ferreries throughout the last week of August the fiesta de Sant Bartomeu is held for three days.
