La Tania is in the Courchevel valley of the Trois Vallees, one of the biggest ski and snowboarding areas in the world. Les Trois Vallees is made up of the Courchevel, Meribel and Val Thorens valleys.
For this ski season many of the ski chalet operators have cut the number of catered ski chalets on offer in la Tania and across the Alps. This is leading to a shortage of good ski holidays available particularly on peak dates and fewer deals in January. With the current economic climate make sure that you book your ski holiday with a fully bonded ski holiday company - do not simply rely on using your credit card.
La Tania is set in the forest between Courchevel and Meribel and is one of the most convenient ski villages for access to Les Trois Vallees skiing domain, it is also designed to be largely pedestrian free. When skiing back to La Tania there is a choice of red, blue and green piste runs that take you through the trees back to the resort. There are plenty of snow-making machines on the blue run and with its north-facing slopes, snow conditions in La Tania remain great late into the season.
Most ski chalets in La Tania are set amongst the trees just above the village. There is a good range of chalets from the budget self-catered chalets such as the Chalet La Tania. At the top end of the market are luxury ski chalets with heated ski rooms and their own hot tubs.
