Cubelles, is a town in Catalonia, in the province of Barcelona, Spain. It is situated in the comarca of Garraf. Cubelles is the home town of internationally renowned circus clown Charlie Rivel. Cubelles has a Museum dedicated to him, called the Charlie Rivel Hall. The main beach of Platja Llarga is - thank to the odd location of the boundary between Cubelles and Vilanova - shared between Cubelles itself, and the wonderfully-named suburb of Prat de Vilanova. The beach in Cubelles is small and protected by a series of elaborate breakwaters, but the promenade continues to the Vilanova section of the beach, (where it changes name to the Passeig de Voramar) which has a magnificent and very quiet 2.5km stretch of sand and sea, backed by sand dunes which are roped off during the bird breeding season.
