Situated within a scenic area planted with olive trees, Planos is a nice tourist resort, close to the sea, at a distance of 7,5 kilometers northwestern to Zakynthos.
A small safe port is available for mooring of small fishing and tourist boats, both at the settlement and at the nearby beach of Buca, at Cape Gaidaros. The village counts some 850 permanent residents.
A lot of hotels of all categories, studios and rooms to let are available for accommodation in the village and the inland area around; accommodation is also offered at the nearby ports of the settlement and at the beach of Tsilivi.
